    Scanner Questions for Lightoom Classic?

I also have a Coolscan V. I've digitised a lot of slides, most recently using Vuescan (thought I did it the dumb way of scanning to a named folder, named depending on the project, and then Imported into Lightroom). A lot of my slides were taken in tricky conditions (a lot of overland travel in...

Where is George Jardine aka. milita blog? I need his video, help me

Hi, I have quite a lot of Jardine's videos as mp4 files. As Victoria says, they are very out of date (like Lightroom 5). If George is no longer active, is it ethical to pass them on?

For BIF and sports photographers - how do you cull and edit photos taken with many fps of the same subject

I don't shoot BIF, but I do shoot a fair amount of wildlife. Like many here, I was also brought up on film so have a tendency not to hold the button down. I'm also shooting mostly for my own memory I've come to look at it a bit differently. Suppose I'm taking a picture of an elephant...

Software up to date, but owner isn't!

Once I install Lightroom Classic 13 my software will be up to date, but as its owner I feel about three versions behind! Is anyone else struggling to stay ahead of all the new features?

    Scanner recommendations?

I have a Coolscan scanner, but it's sat unused on the shelf for a long time. Although I'd scanned quite a number of slides, it was just so very tedious. Anyway, a few weeks ago I decided to bite the bullet and have around 1,000 scanned commercially (I've probably got close to 5,000 in total)...

What format should one save in to use, edit images in different programs?

The ways in which non-destructive edits are stored is proprietary, and in general (maybe always?) not fully documented. In other words, the software producer can change them whenever they see fit (obviously, they will maintain their own internal integrity). Any attempt to reverse engineer the...

Yes indeed. Thanks for the correction!

Lightroom does not save Print Settings

When I had a similar sounding problem, admittedly a few versions ago, resetting the Presets fixed it. Don't know why, of course.

    Web module vs. Portfolio

Thanks, John. I don't have any watermarks. So much to learn, so little time :-(

    Web module vs. Portfolio

Thanks so much Dan, great explanation and description. A project for the next few days, for one who has never used LR/Cloud, or synched anything!

    Web module vs. Portfolio

May I just check something. My route has been to edit in LrC, Export the finished image, and then upload directly into Portfolio. I don't re-Import the Exported images back into LrC. If I synch a Collection from LrC to Portfolio, which "version" of the image gets synched?

    Backups

A (non-photographic) back up anecdote. Some years ago, the company I worked for established a Business Centre to process all our European orders (big business, I think around €5bn pa). I was responsible for the IT infrastructure, including software and tech staff. One day, the Director asked...

Develop module Do you use a drawing tablet? Which one?

I have the Wacom Intuos Pro medium. The size works well for me, though I have no experience of other sizes. As a Lightroom Classic user (and not Photoshop) I agree that the new masking capabilities mean less "painting" and so the tablet is less important to me than it used to be. I also have...

    Re-editing an image

The Reset button is at the bottom of the editing panel on the right of Develop. Your way works of course, just saves a click
