Hi, wondering if anyone has found a remote control that works in slideshow to manually advance photos? I give presentations and would like to use slideshow to show my images, but haven't found a remote that will work. I can export a PDF of the slideshow and use a remote I bought on Amazon, but the image quality is not as good. I can stand at my laptop on the podium and manually advance the photos, but would like to walk around using a remote. Any advice greatly appreciated.

Hi Rob

I asked a similar question last week. The difference in my needs is that in addition to manually advancing I would like to be able to pause/restart an automatic slideshow. Oh and I'm assuming you don't mind if it has a laser pointer.

Hi Paul, I read through your post, didn't seem like you found your answer either. I don't mind a laser pointer, correct. Just simply one that I can manually advance a slide show. As mentioned, I purchased a remote on Amazon which will work if I save a slideshow PDF, but the image quality suffers. There has to be a way to do this in Lightroom!

You would have thought, wouldn't you.

I used to have a Logitech pointer that seemed to work with most Windows apps with forward / backward functions (I wasn't using LR at the time). I would have though that you would be able to obtain similar same for a Mac. May I ask what device you got from Amazon?

Any kind of pointer that's programmable could be set to the Cmd-arrow buttons. That might narrow it down a bit.

That would be fine for me at least, but I've been unable to find any such Mac-compatible device.

I think one of the issues for non-programmable devices might be that the back/forward buttons usually map to the UP / DOWN keys. This will function with say, Keynote, but not a LR slideshow.

How about using a remote app on your phone to control the computer. Remotemouse is one of them.

Dunno about the OP, but that would work for me; unfortunately I don't use a smartphone.

Victoria! Paul! The Xcellon WP-10R Wireless Presenter works in LR CC for manual slideshow, with images set to high quality. Available in US at B&H for 29.95. Problem solved....
