I have experienced corrupt catalog and have been in contact with Adobe for over 2 hours now. I can not open lightroom with the previous catalog I used. I can open one from a while back but 35000 photos are missing. Anyone know what to do? I have tried rebuilding it, tried replacing it, I can not get all the recent pictures to show up in the catalog. They say they will rebuild it but running behind and wanted to see if I could get it fixed faster then it is taking. Before someone from Adobe just signed in and fixed it pretty fast but now sure if who I am talking to is the right person to even talk to.
I open LR and get message that need to check integrity, then says it is corrupt and will not open.

Hi cheerangels, welcome to the forum! Zip up just the catalog (lrcat bit) and use www.wetransfer.com to send it to me at [email protected] and I'll forward it on to a contact, see if he can do it quicker.

Thanks it has been over 4 hours now. He did not get anything done and told me I had to manually upload every picture. :(Had it happen before and a adobe person was able to help me. Confussed because after doing all the going in and out of the catalog I have several the same name but there are numbers after each one 1 through 6. I sent the second one I think that was the last one I used.

I've forwarded it on to an Adobe engineer who specializes in catalog recovery. I'll let you know when I hear back.

Thank you, in the meantime I went to my time machine and took a catalog from there from yesterday morning and it worked. Took me a while after talking to Adobe this morning to think of doing that. A few things were missing that I edited yesterday but at least not as much missing as what I thought. Thank you for helping out.

The repaired catalog's on its way back, but Paul said "This one was pretty mangled and it was hard to see the extent of the corruption. Having said that, I'm hoping this repaired version is useful."

Catalogs don't spontaneously corrupt - it's usually down to a hardware error - and since this isn't the first time this has happened, I'd want to be figuring out why.

Thank you for all your help. I ended up going and getting a new computer. (Merry Christmas to me!!) Going to go to the class next week and try to set it up so this will not happen again. Not transferring anything from the previous Mac so nothing will be messed up.
