I've ran into a situation where my Previews drive got full, and thumbnails got empty after that upon an import. I've been generating 1:1 Previews since the beginning of using LrC and it's not an 8 TB folder. I'm symlinking the Previews to it and the upgrade to 13 dutifully symlinked to that...
I had some strange import hiccups where RAW+JPG pairs were separated and not setup with JPG as RAW sidecar. My preferences do not tell Lr to treat them as separate. I had one import where SNGs were duplicated with -2 (although this was the very first and only import) and then there was the...
BTW since the LensTagger plugin basically invokes exiftool over a set of selected images, letting you edit the command line, you can use it for any kind of EXIF manipulation!
How do you set it for one? For me clicking the lens goes to a attribute view for all shots with that lens, even for one. Also, Copy Metadata from the Metadata menu shows only IPTC entries and Camera section is just four entries. How are you setting it for one image?
I'm shooting my Leica Ms after a break and some of the lenses are uncoded, so I switch to manual, pick a nearest lens, and often forget to switch back to autodetection when returning to the 6-bit coded lenses. As a result I have a few cards where I roughly remember when I switched the lens but...
OK I solved it by unstacking everything (ungrouping the stacks, nit just expanding) and rearranging all photos in the right order, so each pair is next to each other. Then I saw that LrWeb was in order. After that I grouped each adjacent pair back together, and LrWeb was still in order.
I have 75 comparisons paired. They are in the desired order as stacks in the Custom Order view. I can toggle stacks expanded/collapsed with S but I do not want to undo the stacks...
Alas the order in LrWeb is different than the custom order in Classic. In Classic, I have pairs of images stacked. I wonder how stacking affects the underlying order? The metadata updates like flags and captions are syncing for this collection from Classic to Web so the sync is on and always...
I'm building a gallery where I compare two cameras (Leica S Typ 007 and Hasselblad X1D ii) side by side. I added both sets of photos to a synced collection in Lr Classic, and made it Custom Order. I then rearranged all photos so that each pair A and B is next to each other in a stack of two...
I'm often shooting with Leicas and a few lenses are not 6-bit coded, meaning you might need to set the lens metadata manually if the Leica allows for it (which excludes screenless M60 and M-D). I've just realized that one of the manual settings overrides the 6-bit coding and is sticky, so all...
I'm s huge fan of fast local and offline access to all my photos in Lr CC so always try to store all the albums locally. On the iPad Pro I manually store every album locally, and with the 1 TB storage I've been able to store all 380K photos. The albums switch at once and photos come up faster...
What I mean by embedding is that should be a widget with an image and slideshow controls, not a naked link you need to click. Something similar to the youtube embeddable videos.
I'm testing various photo blog solutions, and so far the closes I've come to what I want is Format.com that has an Lr publisher. Alas that is only one way -- if I add photos on iOS to Format app from Lr iOS directly they are not syncing back. SmugMug is two-way but lacks the blog layout...
Well it took about a week for Lr CC Windows to hydrate, but the counts finally match and the smart previews are downloading. I've checked "store all smart previews locally on C:" that is present on Windows that is not present on iOS or Android. The sync still continues. Apparently storing...
It's basically stuck forever showing the circle. The albums sometimes fail to appear, and if they do, their status doesn't change, some with 0 photos count not updating. The iOS and even Android app were catching up quite quickly so this is quite a shocker -- I got the 1TB Surface specifically...
I've found Android microSD card with nominal 512GBN capacity disappearing and the whole setup unstable. So went ant bought a Surface Pro with 1TB storage and setup Lightroom CC. It got stuck syncing down my photos and is doing nothing now. Here we go again. Latest Lr CC 2.0.1. How do we get...
Thank you Victoria! It was your recent book on LrCC that motivated me to up the ante on LrCC, and I’ve upgraded Missing FAQs while at it, both with the print copies — looking forward to the color! (Or, should I say, colour?:)
Will report the 2 SD cards bug. From other forums/posts sounds...
