Library module retroactively add address info based upon GPS meta data available in Lightroom

Along the same lines, is it possible to get an individual street address automatically inserted into the LrC location fields? I can do that manually, but it is really infeasible for me to do that for hundreds or thousands of images. I will get astigmatism and cataracts before doing all that...

    Migration to Windows 11 nightmare

I use both utilities, for different tasks. For automatic sync'ing, Goodsync does a fine job. Just pay attention to the options. For example, you may not want to back up all deleted files and retain them for 30 days. Sometimes Goodsync gets "confused," or sometimes I need to examine folders...

    Google Photos AI-based editing tools

https://www.tenforums.com/tech-news/212477-ai-editing-tools-coming-all-google-photos-users.html When can we see a similar set of features in LrC. And of course, how much GPU power will be needed so that processing times are "reasonable?"

    System Requirements for Lightroom Classic

How about this: Use PugetSystems as a guide for a Lightroom machine. Then order from a UK specialist shop, but allow for different options for the case, etc, but not the CPU or GPU.

    Develop module GPU not supported?

If nothing else, you might need to delete your LrC preferences. I'm running Win 10, not 11, but that should not matter. I have a 3060 Ti GPU. (You didn't specify if your model is or is not a Ti model.) I have had zero issues using this GPU.

Import Tethering using Nikon Z 8

Rikk, I can understand why you might need to quote the person who said that this forum is not an Adobe site. That's true enough and I would hate to see Adobe try to "manage" or influence the tone of comments here. That said, If I were the senior product manager for Lightroom, I would have a...

Import Tethering using Nikon Z 8

And if Adobe does monitor this website, they don't seem to accept the issues raised here. Which is a bit surprising, considering that Adobe has listed our very own Victoria as a subject matter expert on Lightroom, on a par with Adobe employee Julienne Kost for Photoshop. I believe that Victoria...

Import Retrieving images from old CD/DVDs

I have some Agfachrome slides of Paris in 1966 that have faded to almost clear. Since then the coal soot covering many bui8ldings in Paris has been cleaned off, so these pictures have (had) historical value.

Library module limit on total length of all keywords?

I'm aware of the long-standing bug that limits keyword display to about 1500 or 2000 items. A workaround seems to be to use nested keywords. I'm concerned that the total size of all keywords as a text string could also be limited, either in the keyword part of the catalog or on export. So...

So, does this problem have a feasible solution" Or is the "feasible solution" for the OP to bring along a personal laptop?

I am looking for a workflow please help

To me at least, there is missing link. How do photos get imported into the Lighjtrook app if external devices are not allowed, presumably including a camera?

I am looking for a workflow please help

If external USB devices are not allowed, how are you going to transfer photos to your company laptop? Does personal use include installation of software? May I suggest that you have a conversation with your IT department about this issue.

DNG + de-noise in one go?

As a type of computer, a desktop model, particularly in a "mid-tower" or "full tower" case design is an excellent place to store large amounts of data, e.g. the actual photo library. Such as system case design as room for at 3.5" disk drives, with capacities now available up to 22 TB (at a...

    Upgrade

Maybe, maybe not. For sure, Adobe has not tested any LrC upgrade running on Win 7, so they can't claim support. However, the current LrC may work. You just have to try it. Worst comes to worst, you will need to upgrade the OS, which is always a big pain.

    Is an Upgrade Necessary?

Just for grins, I looked up the revenue and revenue per employee for both Adobe and Topaz. The difference in revenue per employee is striking. For Adobe https://fourweekmba.com/adobe-revenue-per-employee/ $648K. For Topaz, https://growjo.com/company/Topaz_Labs $101K. At 26 employees...

    Is an Upgrade Necessary?

That argument has been going on since the release of LrC 7. :p Which ones? Do you use NR only with RAW files? Agree here. Inevitably. Same with most parts of the information economy.

    Malware on Macs - FYI

@Zenon I am a Windows user, so I need to really protect myself online. I believe in real-time protection because if any malware gets inserted into your system, it can start to do damage until it is removed. Full disclosure: For years I was a product manager and director of product...

Where to put Library, Catalog, Backups and Photos?

Had to disagree here. A failure (file corruption or drive failure) would wipe out both the catalog and the backups. It's important that backups go on a different drive than the original LR catalog. I have a self-built desktop with a "full tower" case so that I have several HDDs in the case...

    Is an Upgrade Necessary?

And, a lot of software vendors have moved to subscription or subscription-only models, because it provides a more consistent revenue stream than one-off sales and upgrades. Did I forget to mention that Wall Street also likes subscription-revenue companies?
